Build a dashboard from a picture

You can now build a @Ridge AI dashboard from a picture 🖼️

Our build agent has two jobs: help you get clear on the questions you want to answer with your data, and take care of building the dashboard that answers them. Sometimes the fastest way to say what you want is to show it: a dashboard you like, a screenshot from a report, or a quick sketch on paper.

Drop in that image and the agent recreates it with your own data, either as closely as possible or as loose inspiration. The image doesn’t need to match your data. It can show fields you don’t have or a chart type we don’t support (no Chernoff faces yet, sorry 😐). Before the build agent creates anything, it works out how each part of the image maps onto your data and our charts. It then tells you what it will adapt or leave out. After the first build, it compares the dashboard to your image and revises it. And as always, you can keep refining from there.

Three fun examples in the video:

  1. Recreating Peter Gostev’s LMArena analysis from a screenshot, using the latest data from Arena 🤖
  2. Turning a sketch into a real dashboard for FAA wildlife strikes, using Jeffrey Heer’s hot-off-the-press point maps 🌎
  3. Exploring Kanagawa wave statistics inspired by Hokusai’s Great Wave, using Open Meteo data 🌊

Images also work as reference documents more generally. Attach a screenshot to a dashboard, and the agent consults it whenever you mention it in a prompt.

Bring your sketches, screenshots, or 19th-century woodblock prints and try it with your own data: https://www.ridgedata.ai/start-trial
